San Diego State has been good recently. Probably the best in the state in the last 5 years with USC and UCLA down.

St. Mary's might be the 2nd best D1 team in that state. There's a shit load of D1 basketball schools in California, just most of them are low or mid major outside of the Pac 12 fgts.

SDSU is decent & I have some friends there, but I fear that they're gonna get all big time on guys like me. Like if I went to UCLA, I could have a Jeremy Lin type breakout week & still get buried harder than Cody Rhodes by Larry Drew or whoever else

I can't leave the state cause of how much tuition is for out of state students. It's absurd. Mountain West is great right now. SDSU, New Mexico, UNLV, and Colorado State all NCAA tournament caliber teams. Check the last 5 years between them and Pac 12. Closer than you think.
