Pelicans Win Year 1 NBA Title

After a troubling 48 hours of ISBA playoff action, the New Orleans Pelicans were named champions after winning consecutive sims in the conference finals and NBA Finals. NOLA was very much in doubt of making the playoffs at this time last week but Ante righted the ship and got his team narrowly into the playoffs. They upset the Rockets in round 1 and defeated CPU Oklahoma City in round 2 before the playoffs fell apart in typical 2k Sports fashion. During the playoffs nearly all human coaches experienced freezing at one point or another which led to a disappointing conclusion to the year 1 campaign.

My Expert Take:

Well, OA failed us again. At first blush I was going to say how this title means as much as my "Faptum" one did but it has more meaning than that. The guy did beat a great Rockets team and a cheesy CPU team the next round. That's more impressive than what anybody else did in the playoffs. Granted, many of us didn't have the opportunity but Ante deserves the title and I congratulate him.

I just feel like individual team threads are yesterday's news. They really lose their luster without reels and screenshots. Golden State's was the only interesting thread to me since Bounce had highlights occasionally. Even my own thread bored me to tears.

CPU OKC is pretty damn good when Lamb decides to be the love child of Brad Beal and Ray Allen.

Coming up on Monday I'll give my thoughts on the Lakers and Warriors trade. I'll also give my take on some of the team options picked up and declined. There will be NBA Draft coverage too so stay tuned.

Nothing will ever count if you want to be petty about things, half of the seasons that happened in past shouldn't count for one reason or another. As much as you have to win games you also have to have luck in sim games, that's how 2K rolls nowadays.

Leroy's list was always the truth IMO. You have 2, Paul maybe 3 and those older guys have 1.
Rest = around the same value as Bryan's but whatever, it doesn't hurt anyone to continue counting.

Leroy has John Wall over John Stockton on all time PG list too...

And Kevin Seraphin is the new Kevin Mchale  ...

The most important thing is having fun...

Felix has the most legit NBA title that I can recall. He actually played humans in every round of the playoffs, which is highly rare for 2k sports. Including a dramatic Finals win over his arch rival, Vince. I think his path to the title looked like this:

Defeat New Orleans (Bryan) 2-1
Defeat Lakers (RocBoyz) 2-0
Defeat Cleveland (Vince) 2-0
