| smh @ the Heat still keeping James Jones and Mike Miller around despite the Ray Allen signing. I can understand Miller since he's impossible to trade due to his contract/injuries but I can't see James Jones EVER playing unless its a blow out.
Ante is the team to beat because he won the last title but I consider the Heat a slight favorite as we stand right now. Vince is hungry. |

| PRE-SEASON The Miami Heat had an exhibition game(online demo) with the Oklahoma City Thunder taking place at South Beach. The Heat started off with a 10-0 run with Wade leading the show. Ray Allen then came in and nailed 2 3s right off the bat. The Heat led the Thunder 24-10 after the 1st quarter. The televised pre-season game then blacked out and switched to TNT's series, Falling Skies. . . fuck you Falling Skies!
Wade - 11 points Allen - 6 points Chalmers - 3 points James - 2 points Haslem - 2 points Harden - 8 points Perkins - 2 points---MIAMI'S SHARPSHOOTERS Mario ChalmersLet's start off with the starting point guard. Been in the league for 4 years now & has a career 36% 3P%. Won't have to handle the ball much unless Wade & James are injured. Give him space anywhere beyond the arc and he will make you regret it. Chalmers is also a tough man-to-man defender. Will suffocate your best guard under Miami's new system. Rashard Lewis1 of 2 newest additions to the Heat this season. Lewis is projected to be a starter next to LeBron James filling up both forward spots. He's a 2x All-Star(1 in Seattle, 1 in Orlando). He averaged a solid 39% 3P% in his career so far. His best season in his career in my opinion was his 1st season in Orlando, making 226 3s out of 553 attempted (41%). Under Miami's system, Rashard will get a lot of open shots. Expect him to be a threat. Ray AllenJesus Shuttlesworth: The NBA's current leader for career 3-pointers. The Heat's projected 6th man and a top candidate to get that award. It's a no-brainer to guard this veteran shooter. The real question is, can you keep him guarded? Shane BattierThis face-in-your-hand defender is a corner specialist. He's a 38% career shooter from beyond the arc. This 10-year veteran can shut your best player down. Expect Battier to play an abundant of minutes when Miami is playing Boston, Oklahoma City, LA Lakers, Denver, Golden State, Indiana, Memphis, Minnesota, San Antonio, and New York. Mike MillerThe token white guy of Miami. Miller's minutes will most likely be reduced with the new additions of Allen and Lewis. 40% at 3 in his 12-years in the NBA. Even if he's not going to be on the floor much, he can still get hot in a quick minute. ---BREAKING NEWS Former 3-point shootout winner, James Jones, will be released from his contract to make room for a potential signing. hint: there will be TWO white guys in South Beach |

Homecoming Ruined One of the Eastern Conference Rivals and the Big 3's classmate, Carmelo comes down to South Beach for the Heat's first home game of the season. Boy was the game intense. The game was low scoring due to great defense on both ends, having only a combined 19 points after the 1st quarter(NYK 10 - MIA 9). Carmelo was expected to have a great game. However what the Heat didn't expect was Steve Novak.

The Heat were down by a good amount and were expected to lose, but LeBron started dishing assists and scoring his own in the 4th. They got up by 1 in the last few seconds. Knicks were expected to take a quick timeout, but they didn't. Carmelo brought the ball down the court, and nailed a shot with 0.9 seconds left over Haslem.
Final Score: 68 - 67
Standout Players James: 23 pts, 5 reb, 7 ast Wade 10 pts, 3 ast Anthony: 25 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast Novak: 21 pts, 4 reb Stoudemire: 11 pts, 4 reb |

Miami gets a close a win over the T'Wolves. 3rd game in Minnesota. A state full of cute hmong girls who are DTF. :paulyD: Heat led as much as 16, but T'Wolves didn't give up at all. In the 4th, Roy & Budinger were clutch. Cutting down the lead down to single digits. However the Heat held on to their lead to get the W. South Beach is looking for a backup center though, and the are having private talks with the main candidate. The big man's name is a secret for now. However he's feelin' high on the franchise |
