My Career is a huge part of the NBA 2K package, but the mode saw little-to-no changes this year. The creation and ascension of your My Player will take place exactly as it did in NBA 2K13. I was hoping for a few new customization options with this mode, but it wasn’t in the cards.
The good thing is that the gameplay enhancements shine through in this mode as well. Your teammates react smarter and because of the improved collision detection, it is easier and more appealing to make your My Player a center or power forward.
The inside game is more realistic, thus you're not left feeling detached from the action as a big man.
The Association mode is also largely unchanged, with the exception of improvements to free agent logic from CPU-controlled teams and a more realistic way to handle injuries and recovery.
Players will be forced to play limited minutes upon their return to the lineup while they recover from more serious injuries.
I simulated an entire season and saw much more plausible decisions being made on free agents during the offseason.
-I said earlier that the game needed very few slider tweaks but there are still some tweaks which are needed for realism purposes:
Fouls: I upped the fouls to 95 for both the CPU and user and I’m still not getting enough fouls in my opinion. At 95, I’m expecting teams to hit the bonus regularly but I’m seeing 3-4 fouls per team. Not bad but not enough. Passing and Ball Control: You will need to lower both in order to get a realistic number of turnovers. Inside shot tendencies: This is the biggest one in my opinion. At default, you have to work to keep the CPU out of the paint. The CPU will occasionally take midrange jump shots but needs to take more.
Final Thoughts
There are enough changes and improvements to this year’s game that a purchase is completely justified if you are a fan of the NBA. Its by far, the most realistic NBA basketball game I’ve ever played. The biggest question for me is going to be whether I buy the current gen version or wait until the next-gen version.

Not a big fan of the stuff in pink font. CPU forcing shots in the paint was a favorite of mine from 2k12.
Not a fan of 2k14 in general. Sounds like a $60 dollar DLC that features access to regular roster updates and the LeBron story mode thing.
Fuck this game imo...If crew sucks this game will be sold within 30 days.

So no more Mo Williams 4 year 45 million deals? I hope not, that's always a personal highlight for me. Nate Robinson getting that 80 million extension from OKC on 2K12 is an all time great moment.
Sliders probably take care of all those CPU tendencies and shot/pass/foul/FB/stamina issues.
Pink font should be default IMO.

I checked out Operation Sports through that link Ante provided and browsed a bit to find out if there are any OA news.
smh at those scumbags running OS. They aren't allowing looking for new players or leagues, and if you want to use their precious sub-forum you have to pay $20 and become an "OS Supporter". lol

OS charging $20 to have a recruiting thread on their shitty forum
That's $20, twenty bucks, TWENTY ffs. Theres seriously something wrong with their heads.

As a member of the madden community, I can safely say OS is the worst place ever. You cant really see it with 2k, but with madden.. Holy shit they are some serious whiners. Complaining about EVERYTHING ftw

I REALLY wish I was in charge of player ratings. This bullshit of giving big name players inflated ratings would be OVER. I'd be a damn ratings Nazi.
Jamison 68 ovr
Duhon 62 ovr
MCW 69 ovr
Recruiting for OA's is difficult. It's almost gotta be by accident (someone from a ranked game, TU gm etc) or someone from the 2k forum. Once in awhile decent people are looking there.

LBJ 85 3s rating, go eat some more dick 2k sports. Shumpert of course has better 3s rating than Klay and other great shooters. Rookies rated like stars again even tho this draft was shit.

They still haven't opened the 2K14 section and 2K13 recruiting section is a ghost town at this point.
Andrew Bynum 86. Blazers have Mo Williams on their team. lol gtfo
Interesting scale of Euroleague ratings. In Turkey Framar is 81, in LA he's 69. That seems about right IMO. You want to translate ratings instead of just copy/pasting NBA ratings for such players. That's why Rudy is 83 & Sonny Weems is 82. They are big time players in Euroleague but 70-71 in NBA. Still kinda weird to use last seasons Euroleague rosters.

Pretty much how I feel after watching a bunch of videos. Looks identical to 2k13, but apparently plays completely different/much much better. I don't think they've added any new historic teams/players either which is a huge disappointment if you're a My Team junkie.

Agreed. There's just no "wow" factor or excitement about this game. The game looks decent for sure but so was 2k13. A real crew mode would have been that "wow" factor for me but this blacktop 2.0 shit doesn't get me excited. I'm sure it will be OK and worth some fun but 5 minute quarters inside an arena with refs would be 100000x better. I'm a bit encouraged that OA free agent logic is improved.

^I've never liked the NBA 2k series much tbh. They've been the only game in town recently so I've been at their mercy. Plus 2k has such fanboys that it makes it almost impossible to like the game, even when it is good (2k11, 2k13). It's still the worst online experience of this generation. I've heard PES is bad online too but I've never played that.

YouTube didn't like that I occasionally used a real song so now I'm left with the French knock-off site, but.. and I quote: "...is also popular because users do not have to worry about their videos getting taken down for copyright violations."
PES is just an awful game. They don't even care, game has a 2 second offline lag, framerate drops to buffering levels and online is run through an iPhone 2 used as a server located on Maldives. EA games online are Lebron, 2K is Danny Granger, PES is Jason Colins.
Over/under: Crax will collect 1 billion VC on 2K14.
